How to Choose the Best Size for Your Custom Backdrops
Backdrops come in three standard sizes:
5' x 8' is a favorite for a couple of photos. Perfect for weddings and parties.
8' x 8' fits three persons in a photo. Ideal for trade shows or company events.
10' x 8' can fit a group of five adults.
Recommended for festivals or red carpet events with large groups. You can order a banner separately, or include a backdrop stand. The photo backdrop stand comes in a bag for easy transport. Vinyl backdrops can include pole pockets at the top and bottom or grommets as alternative options instead of using a photo backdrop stand.
Design Tips for Backdrops
Select the best font for your logo
Combine colors or use images on a matte finish.
Arrange logos in a clean and clear manner.
The font should make your company name clear, clean, and bold enough to read from far away. Just Creativerecommends using sans serif fonts like Proxima Nova, Avenir Next, Museo Sans, and TT Commons.
All custom backdrops are printed on vinyl with a smooth matte finish, making it low glare and easy to read. Choose a hue that won’t fade out when printed and set against your logo.
If you have multiple logos, make sure each logo has its own separate space and does not distract one from the other.
Custom Backdrops FAQs
How big of a custom backdrop do I need?
The size will depend on where it will be displayed, the extent of your design, and how many people you want posing in front of the backdrop.
The 5’ x 8’ is recommended for one logo or a vertical image on the background. It can only fit two people in front.
The 8’ x 8’ is wide enough to fit at least two logos. This keeps your backdrop's focus on two main sponsors or two company logos. Or, you can opt to have a central logo surrounded by smaller logos.
The 10’ x 8’ fits up to four logos. You can also maximize the larger space for a high-resolution image or as a colored background for any purpose.
Can I turn a photo into a backdrop?
Yes, you can print an image onto your backdrop. Before turning over the file, make sure that it is in 300 dpi resolution. Otherwise, it will appear stretched and pixelated upon printing. How do I set up my backdrop?
Remove the accessories from the bag and lay them down with your graphic. The graphic should be face down on the floor.
Extend the top and center sections of the two telescoping poles until they are equal in length and a few inches longer than the graphic.
Lay down the adjusted telescoping poles on the vertical sides of your graphic.
To adjust the horizontal telescoping poles, slide the threaded ring on to the threaded pole. Then screw the threaded and receptacle sections together.
Adjust the horizontal telescoping poles to the desired length for your banner's display.
Insert the horizontal poles into each of the pole pockets.
To attach the horizontal and vertical poles, align the contoured curve of the horizontal poles to the vertical pole.
To attach the base or "feet" to the display, place these at the bottom of the vertical poles on the lower area of the banner.
Once both feet are attached, lift the display into an upright position.
Rotate the feet so that they are perpendicular to the vertical poles and let the display stand on its own.
